This is the North America nebula, or NGC 7000. It is a star forming region 2,202 light years away in the constellation Cygnus. NGC 7000 appears in the sky about three times the size of the moon, but invisible to the unaided eye at Mag. 4.0. The photo is a composite of about 30 photos merged together to reduce noise and improve detail. 35x 2min, Canon 550d, Canon 75-300 f/4-5.6 III and Kenko SkyMemo equatorial mount.
